The design
Steve Tilson. More than 270 appearances and 26 goals for Southend, and back-to-back promotions across the late eighties and early nineties — the kind of run a club measures its eras by.
Embroidered rather than printed, which is right for a name like this. For supporters who were there for both of them, and good for a Saturday at any level.
The garment
- 100% organic ringspun combed cotton
- 180 gsm, single jersey
- Medium fit, set-in sleeve
- 1x1 rib at the neck collar, self-fabric neck tape
- Double-needle topstitch at the sleeve and bottom hems
Stitched, not printed
Premium embroidery: real thread, real texture, a bit of weight to it. Nothing sitting on the surface to fade or lift, so it wears in rather than out. It is the finish people notice without quite knowing why.
Wash inside out at 30°C, hang to dry, and keep the iron off the design.
